The Honorary Consulate General of Romania in Ohio is pleased to announce that a consular team from the Romanian Embassy in Washington will travel to Cleveland, in June 2025, to provide consular services and assistance to Romanian citizens in the area.
The itinerant consulate services will be performed by appointment via the www.econsulat.ro portal ONLY. In order to be able to request a consular service, each interested citizen is required have an account on the aforementioned portal.
Payments for consular services can be made by cash or money order. Checks are not accepted, and credit card payments are not available.

- Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
- Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

The following CONSULAR SERVICES will be performed:
- notarial deeds (powers of attorney, declarations);
- obtaining documents from Romania;
- electronic passports;
- verification of legal status with the Romanian state.
Interested citizens may request an appointment by Friday, June 04, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., via email at washington.itinerant@mae.ro, communicating the validated request number from SIMISC (in PE xxxxx format) from the www.econsulat.ro portal, according to the procedure.
The message requesting an appointment must contain:
- the first and last name of the applicant for consular services;
- the requested consular service and the assigned request number in PE xxxxx format;
- the itinerant consulate for which the appointment is requested;
- a phone number of the applicant for consular services;
- scanned supporting documents related to the requested consular service – for persons whose application has not been validated in the www.econsulat.ro portal by the date of consular service request submission or if a request has not been submitted on the portal. In the latter case, please note that it will not be possible to receive an appointment confirmation either by phone or e-mail if the legal requirements for processing the requests are not met.
Interested citizens are asked to ensure that they possess all documents necessary to perform the requested consular service and are advised to review the information available on the Romanian Embassy in Washington’s website, at the following link: http://washington.mae.ro/node/485.
Please note that requests for consular services made without prior appointment will NOT be accepted or processed.
